The Mountain News is Here!

A new web service has arrived in the shadow of Mt Rainier – The Mountain News.

Our mission is to report the news of those who live close to Mount Rainier in body or spirit.  In terms of the physical, we’re talking about the communities of southern Pierce and eastern Thurston and Lewis counties, from Puyallup in the north to Yelm in the west to Eatonville and Morton in the south.

As for spirit, The Mountain News will illumine and champion those people who inspire us to greatness along with those neighbors we can count on when times get tough or celebrate with us righteously when we shine.

The Mountain News is an online news magazine that has in-depth features, columns and news stories pertaining to our area that can not be found anywhere else.  Specifically, we cover stories of ex-urban and rural lifestyles such as self-reliant living, health, politics, crime, and issues of the soul.

As a fledgling organization we are endeavoring to build our professional staff and thus, our reach.  Nevertheless, the Mountain News welcomes written and visual contributions from all of our readers and neighbors, along with freelancers, with remuneration given on a case-by-case basis.

      Hey Don and Ange,

So good to hear from you. Let the ex’ers know I’ll be working up another NTCC story next week. Thanks for all your support. You guys cruising by in Mountain Country any time soon?

Not sure, does this cover Enumclaw? It’s disturbing to learn that “Washington is one of 17 states that does not outlaw bestiality.” eewwww!

    • brucesmith49 says:

10-4 on Enumclaw, good buddies. Not heavy coverage to be sure at the moment. But once we get a few bucks, some ads and I can hire some writers we’ll be there.

Okay. lol at the trucker CB lingo! Did you check out that story on Enumclaw? Gross. They have to use laws preventing cruelty to animals to handle this situation. Bizarre.

Tell me what’s happening in Enumclaw; I don’t know the specifics of what you are referring to. In the meantime, I’ve got two animal abuse cases in Pierce County I’ll be covering in the next few days; first, someone is taking pot-shots at a mastiff in Graham, and second, we have a ton o’ stuff happening with a horse breeder in Roy. I’ve been receving messages that some of her horses have been locked out in pastures during the winter cold or locked indoors in stalls and don’t get any exercise. Plus, PC Animal Control just told me that criminal proceedings have commenced against the breeder regarding former incidents of abuse. I have to get all the details and I’ll be posting a story on this next week.
