Editor’s Note: One of the contributing writers at the Mountain News, Josh Magill, has gone on to start his own online literary and news site in partnership with his wife, Angela, whose stories have also been posted here. Introducing the first-ever short story contest for flash fiction at The Magill Review
The First Place Winner will receive:
- $50 in cash
- The winning short story will be prominently posted on The Magill Review
- Option to become a contributing writer to The Magill Review
Contest Rules:
- Contest entry is free and writers may submit up to two entries each.
- Entries must be 1500 words or less (not including title). Entries outside the word count will be disqualified.
- All entries should be submitted in the body of an email to themagillreview@gmail.com with “short story entry” in the subject line. No attachments will be accepted or viewed. Entries will not be accepted by regular mail. Please give your full name and email address with each entry.
- All entries must be in English, original, and unpublished. The Magill Review reserves the one-time publication rights to the 1st -5th place winning entries to be published online at The Magill Review.
- Entries must be submitted by 11:30pm pacific time on March 1, 2013.
- Winners will be notified by April 1st, 2013 via email. If you have not been contacted by this date, you may assume that your entry is not a finalist and may be published elsewhere.
