Update on Bethel School District’s summer lunch program

The Bethel School District announced today that some changes are being made regarding their free summer lunch program.  Besides switching the Spanaway site to Spanaway Lakes High School, the lunch program, which begins Monday, June 24, will also feature an exercise and fitness component.

Here is the announcement from Krista Carlson, the BSD’s Communications Director:

We have made some updates to our summer feeding program.

Lunches will be provided at the following sites from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Monday to Friday, June 24 to August 16, 2013 (except July 4)

  • SpanawayLake High School, 1305 168th St. E., Spanaway, WA 98387 – 253.683.5600
  • Thompson Elementary, 303 159th ST E, Tacoma, WA 98445 – 253.683.5894

 Also, new this year, Child Nutrition Services has partnered with the Tacoma-Pierce County YMCA to offer the “Play, Eat, Repeat!” program.  The YMCA will be on site at both locations offering a fun, physical activity and fitness program.  Contact each summer feeding site for times and more details.
