Special to the Mountain News-WA , from the GKCC.
The Graham – Kapowsin Community Council (G-KCC) is excited to announce that the long- awaited Golden Age exercise classes will begin on Thursday, June 8th!
There will be six (6) classes this summer. The dates are: June 8 and 22, July 6 and 20, August 10 and 24. All classes will be held on Thursdays starting @ 10:15 a.m. at the Graham Public Library, located at 9202 224th St. E. Graham.
These exercise classes are performed sitting in a chair. This accommodates folks who cannot stand to exercise, those with disabilities, and those who are rehabilitating from surgeries and/or injuries.
The exercises are designed to improve flexibility, motor control, range of motion and memory by using gentle, soft gymnastic movements in flowing coordination & motion. All classes will be taught by Ed Ravina, a master Tai Chi instructor well-known to Graham area residents.
These classes are FREE, but pre-registration is requested…Thank You very much!
Additionally, a FREE light lunch for class members will be served following all classes.
For those needing transportation, the G-KCC can arrange a pick-up in a van. If you would like this service, please call Cele Noble at the number below:
Carol Wright, CEO of G-KCC and Celia Noble, G-KCC Golden Age Director have been searching a long time for a location where these exercise classes could be held. Recently David Seckman, Manager of the Graham Public Library, graciously offered the library facility. Also, the Friends of the Library voted to pay the instructor’s fee for the June classes. Several anonymous community citizens have provided funds for publicity and food for the lunches for the June classes.
It is gratifying to witness this community involvement. Many thanks to you all.
