Washington State Patrol public information officer Guy Gill sent the Mountain News the following press release and photo concerning a very serious car crash on SR 507 between McKenna and Roy Wednesday afternoon:
Pierce County- On June 15, 2011, at 3:50 p.m., a head-on collision occurred on State Route 507 at milepost 33 (near 312th St). A 47-year-old female from Yelm was driving a 1995 Lincoln Town Car southbound. She crossed the centerline striking a 49-year-old Tacoma man driving a 1995 Honda Accord head-on.
Both drivers were transported by ground to Madigan Hospital and the 47-year-old Yelm woman was later airlifted to Harborview Medical Center. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts and the cause of the collision is still under investigation.
Remember, it only takes one poor decision by a driver and it can lead to loss of life or life threatening injuries to our friends, family, and loved ones.

as bad as this accident is, it actually happened at 1:50pm, i was northbound on sr507 and came upon it about 5 minutes after it happened. sorry that it happened, but that particular s curve could use a little revamping.
Thanks for the update, Bruce.
