Innovative solar hot water heater delivers inexpensive heat to the Pacific Northwest

A thrilled crowd in Yelm Thursday evening viewed an innovative solar hot water heater that delivers enough hot water to heat a home or a greenhouse- even in wintertime.

Even more exciting, the heating device was not some pie-in-the-sky prototype but an actual production unit, designed and produced by Silk Road Solar, a Kennewick, WA company headed by engineer Raymond Lam. Continue reading

Nature grows organic – taking a tour of an organic vegetable farm in Eatonville

Two years ago, Requel and Bob Roos started Organic by Nature Farm and Garden, a six-acre parcel in Eatonville where they sell heirloom plants, seeds and fresh organic produce.  For now, most of their crops are grown in about twenty raised beds and not in agricultural production fields, so their operation is more of a very large garden than a farm. Puyallup Aglow a place of comfort and fellowship

Spaghetti Feed in Frederickson raises money for Cross Park

 

A neighborly crowd of Frederickson residents, estimated to be 300-400, came to the Frederickson Elementary School Friday night for a fundraising spaghetti dinner.  The goal was to raise money to begin development of the Stan and Joan Cross Park, a sixty-four acre property on Military Rd now owned by Pierce County. Looking for the Boeing Guy – Graham’s Good Samaritan is still unknown

 

Seven days after he rescued three members of a Graham family, their mysterious Good Samaritan is still unknown.

 Nicknamed “The Boeing Guy” because he was wearing a Boeing employee lanyard, he is also a friendly fellow and hung-out with Danny Kloss, Brenda Snell and her 15 year-old son Austin, after they escaped to safety. Continue reading
