Bethel Learning Center dedicated

The air was filled with jazz music on Saturday morning in Spanaway as nearly two hundred people gathered to celebrate the opening of the new Bethel Learning Center.  The music produced by the Pierce County Community Big Band under the direction of Shawn Sandvig accompanied smells of breakfast food that emanated throughout the building. Update on the seizure of 39 horses in Graham – due process controversy grows

Tempers flared and feelings were hurt this past week over the recent seizure of 39 horses from a Graham farm that officials said contained “deplorable conditions.”  Many area residents are incensed that one more site of tragic animal abuse has been discovered while others are dismayed with another governmental seizure of private property. BSD Sports Roundup

Graham-Kapowsin High School

The Eagles volleyball team defeated district rival SpanawayLake behind Ayla Carpenter’s four aces while Jessica Bailey spiked 17 kills against the Sentinels.  Kyla Ogbrun finished with nine kills and three aces and Taylor Nolte had seven blocks.  Setter Alex Tuilepia had 28 assists in the victory.  However, the win was off-set by a loss to Auburn-Riverside, in which Tuilepia had 32 assists and Ayla Langu had six blocks and eight kills.
